Welcome to my website!

                                                Continued:

I have a vision for Seattle and many plans for things that need to be done around our city.  Listed to the left are links to pages that highlight some of the areas of interest in City operations or issues that have been of greatest concern for Seattleites and my thoughts on them.

Please check out the rest of the website, and I also want to let you know that below are the things that as mayor I pledge to first take care of once I am elected:

· In the first 100 days I will take any and all actions necessary to ensure that a deep-bored tunnel is not built to replace the Viaduct, and will take the necessary steps so that an aerial structure that duplicates the capacity and connections of the present Viaduct is built

· In the first 100 days I will establish 100 beds/units of housing for the homeless, on City owned property and at the City of Seattle’s expense.

· In the first 100 days I will establish the Clean and Green Seattle work program, putting 100 people to work cleaning up the common areas of Seattle and restoring the parks, green spaces, streetscapes and landscapes of Seattle.

· In the first 100 days I will take the actions necessary to convert the city’s Bus/Bike only lanes (BAT lanes) so that car pool vehicles (vehicles with two or more persons) can use them also.

· City Hall will also be reconfigured so that it once again becomes a welcoming place for citizens to gather and meet with their elected representatives and officials, not the empty unwelcoming fortress it now is.

· Under my tenure there also will be no new or raised taxes or fees (business or private) to support any City-instigated or led programs or initiatives.

· I will eliminate certain City boards, reduce the size of the City’s Office of Intergovernmental Relations, Sustainability and Environment, and reorganize the following City departments  -   Department of Transportation, Neighborhoods, Parks and Recreation.

As mayor I promise to always first consider the impact that decisions I make will have on the quality of life that people have in Seattle, the quality of its neighborhoods, the quality of governance in Seattle, and in carrying out any decisions, I promise to ensure that any executive actions do not harm people or the social and cultural life of Seattle, and by extension do not harm the environment both in and around Seattle.

This space is also going to be as much about my campaign for mayor as it is about you.  I want your support, and I want to hear about your ideas and dreams for Seattle, your needs as a citizen, and what you think city government should consider and be like.
